CHURCH.022.1Scope and Content
Constructed 1796; restored mid-20th century. A mariner, Daniel Brown, was the first to rebuild on the site of the Fenwick tenements, completing this 3-story stuccoed house as his residence by 1796. Though largely original, it underwent certain renovations in the Greek Revival period. Its stucco belt coursing and fenestration nearly match the adjoining dwelling at 24 Church Street completed by George Chisholm, a factor operating on Vanderhorst's Wharf, by 1800.
