KING.426.1Scope and Content
Constructed 1806-1810; altered 1942; rehabilitated 1990-91. Francis Marks, a member of a family of King Street shopkeepers, built this 3-story stuccoed brick single house with a low hipped roof after acquiring the site in 1806 from Joseph Manigault. Although the building was rehabilitated in recent years, the fenestration of the upper floors remains intact in the late Federal manner with larger windows on the second floor and smaller openings on the third story.
