Constructed ca. early 1900s. Two-story frame house that was part of a real estate development headed by Tristram T. Hyde, a mayor of Charleston. E. Dubose Heyward, author of "Porgy," lived in the house for a few years (ca. 1915) before his marriage. In the 1920s the house belonged to Henry Mazyck Walker.
No additional house history on file. Needs further research.
