Scope and Content

Constructed 1780s. This house served as a carriage house for a now-vanished 18th century dwelling to the east. Though rehabilitated in the 1920s, the building retained the arched entry, which is infilled by a window with Neoclassical moldings and the hipped roof and upper fenestration. File contains Rosen and Associates (engineers) Hurricane Hugo damage inspection report (1989); photocopy of plat of St. Michael's Alley showing 11 as a carriage house, 1799.
