Scope and Content

Constructed 1840-41; alterations ca. 1886, ca. 1943, 2006-7. Three-story masonry single house with a piazza at its west elevation and a two-story masonry kitchen house that has been attached to the north end of the main house since at least 1884. (Source: Part I Certification Application) Three files contain documentation of the easement on the property including related correspondence and Confirmation of Understanding; Part I certification (National Register); easement appraisal report and IRS form 8283; floor plans; historical/chain-of-title research information; SC Dept. of Archives and History architectural survey form; photocopies of Sanborn Maps (1884, 1888, 1928); Rosen and Associates inspection report (2004); correspondence related to the management of the building. Files may eventually contain annual inspection reports; requests for alterations and correspondence related to the management of the property, if applicable; etc. See Easement Documentation Photo Files for easement donation photographs (Exh.
