Constructed c. 1845. This three-and-a-half story brick residence was part of a complex of buildings that Robert Murrell Venning, a Christ Church planter and factor, constructed on land cleared by the Fire of 1838. Surviving Venning family houses include 43 and 46 Society Street and 58 and 60 Anson Street. Family tradition said that Venning constructed 43 Society for one of his sons as a wedding gift.
