SOCIETY.044.1Scope and Content
Constructed ca. 1840; rehabilitated 1962, late 1980s. Isaac Reeves sited this small brick house on the lot in a manner that provides the most unique yard in Ansonborough. Set in a large garden, the simple 2-story building with French windows and wide piazzas, is constructed of Philadelphia brick. The dwelling was one of the first to be restored in the Ansonborough Rehabilitation Project. Reeves's widow, Ann, still owned the residence in 1860 but had turned the site into rental property.
Two files contain original legal documentation of the covenant on the property; annual inspection reports; requests for alterations; correspondence and other documentation related to the covenant itself; correspondence and other documentation related to the management of the property (including the repairs done under HCF's ownership); documentation of HCF's purchase of the property; FOHG house histories (ca. 1962, 1975); copy of HCF easement information card (TMS number, year of construction, significant resident(s), deed research, deed restrictions, measurements, and tax information).
