Constructed ca. 1858. Dr. John Burckmeyer Patrick, an internationally known dental practitioner and innovator, built this
2-story Italianate building about 1858 as his office. Dr. Patrick was descended from Casimir Patrick, who emigrated from Alsace in the 18th century. Dr. Patrick drew international attention for his discoveries and inventions, the results of which were published in American and European dental journals and which advanced the science and practice of dentistry. The house remained in his family until the 1960s.
