Constructed ca. 1899. Attorney Benjamin Huger Rutledge built this large frame house in the Colonial Revival style. Rutledge (1861-1925) was elected to the S.C. House of Representatives in 1890 and served for many years as clerk of the judiciary committee of the legislature. He was a graduate of Virginia
