Engraved with the crest of Lieutenant Governor William Bull II (1710-1791) of Charleston, this high-rococo-style salver was made in the London workshop of the notable Huguenot silversmith Samuel Courtauld. One of two pieces of silver in Historic Charleston Foundation's collection that descended in the Bull family, it exemplifies the fashionable plate imported from England for the Charleston's sophisticated clientele.
