circa. 1835 overmantel mirror and pier mirror in the rococo revivial style Believed to have once been in the ballroom of the Aiken-Rhett house. Donated by Mrs. Birthright, former occupent of 57 East Bay Street, who lived in the Aiken-Rhett House as a child.
96.6.1: Overmantel mirror, softwood, probably pine, gilt
having rectangular molded frame with rounded corners, pediment decoated with 'C'-scroll and leaf decoration, center having leaf and center flower design, bottom corners having scroll and leaf decoration
Condition: gilt cracking and chipping, left center pediment and lower left of pediment leaf decoration broken off, mirror silvering.

96.6.2: Pier mirror, softwood, probably pine, gilt
having rectnagular simple molded frame surrounding glass
Condition: Tremoundous loss gilt gesso to base, has been sloppily repainted with a greyish color
