Set of five Philadelphia side chairs c. 1805-1820 in mahogany and ash. The chairs are in klismos form with sabre legs and a molded edge running over the knee, across the side rails, and up te rear stiles. The crest rail has an inlaid panel and, in the center of the back, a foliate carved slat. The chairs are in fine condition with only two repairs to the joints of two legs. The slip seats of the chairs are currently upholstered in blue. They descended in the Dehon and Abbot families of Charleston and Massachusetts.
