Description

Elkington Company (1840-1897) Salver Birmingham, England 1859/1860 Electroplate silver George Richards Elkington held the patents for electroplating. Two Sheffield Salvers, initials "G A T" (Trenholm) in center of decorative cartouche. Salvers have pierced decoration as well as shell and bead motif. Three legs for the base. Legs on 15 are slightly larger than those found on 16. Made by the Elkington Company of Birmingham, England in the mid 19th century. Replated by Tiffany's.
