TRADD.001.1Scope and Content
Constructed ca. 1800; restored 1927. This simple single house built of brick and covered with stucco represents the typical dual residential and commercial occupation of this area in post-Revolutionary Charleston. The building was restored in 1927 with the addition of an iron balcony to its second-floor front facade. Reflecting the reclamation of this street at the beginning of Charleston's preservation fervor, the structure was restored by Mrs. T.W. Punnett, a cousin of Franklin D. Roosevelt. (Buildings of Charleston.)
