Constructed before 1788. A two-story, three-bay, stucco-over-brick dwelling with a standing-seam metal roof, located on a narrow, deep city lot on the south side of lower Tradd Street.
Three files contain documentation of the easement on the property including related correspondence; conceptual approval letter (1/292003); Part I certification (National Register); easement appraisal report; documentation of the sale of the property; annual inspection reports, requests for alterations, and correspondence related to the management of the property; BZA Notice of Conditional Approval of 0 Longitude Lane; historical/chain-of-title research and supporting documentation (HCF, 2001, including L. Louis Green research); FOHG house histories (1960s?, 2009, 2019, 2020); FOHG garden history (2009); newspaper article (1962); house history from Information for Guides of Historic Charleston (1984); house history from Tour Guide Training Manual (2011); newspaper article (Charleston Mercury 12/2019); data sheet for CharlestonWISE Impact Project (Sustainability Institute) that includes construction date, square footage, number of stories, building orientation, system materials/types, Sanborn Map research notes, and additions/alterations notes (Mariah Schwartz, 2011); photocopies of realtor brochures (1998, 2005); brief account of the 1886 earthquake (excerpt from book).
