Constructed ca. 1745; possibly rebuilt after 1778; renovated late 1800s, 1948. John McCall built a house ca. 1745 on this site, which he inherited from his great-grandmother, Mary Fisher Crosse, the Quaker preacher. The two-and-a-half story brick house may have survived or been rebuilt after the fire of 1778. (City of Charleston Tour Guide Training Manual)
