Black walnut clerk's stool, 1800-1850, windsor style. American, possibly South Carolina due to use of walnut. Four rounded legs connected with rounded cross-braces support round seat. Tenoned construction and use of tiny nails. Scribe marks are visible on underside of seat indicating the placement of the legs. "240" marked in chalk on underside of seat.Collection
