Photographs of the damage caused by the Charleston Earthquake of 1886. Photos are captioned with details, including the dollar amount of the damage. Includes many of the images that appear in Earthquake Views (2008.005.2) and many pages of business advertisements. In addition to the buildings featured in Earthquake Views, other buildings/views include Broad Street looking east at Exchange building, King Street between Broad and Queen, corner of King Street and Warren, Roper Hospital, Washington Park camp scene, corner of Meeting and Market Streets, Lazarus residence (66 Hasell Street), public school on Meeting Street near Mary Street, 144 Tradd Street (Kenney residence), Bagging Factory on Meeting Street, Wilson residence at Meeting Street below Broad Street, United States Courthouse on Broad Street, Sinkler residence on Tradd Street. Text is signed Alex. M. Cochran.
