Copies (pdfs) derived from digital photographs of eight volumes of "Lower Wards Assessments for 1852." Each ward book documents property assessments made over the five-year period of 1852-1856, and contains the names of the owners, whether the buildings were brick (B) or wooden (W), the number of stories, the dimensions of the property, along with the assessment for each year.
Eight volumes - one for each of the lower wards - organized by street within each volume. Index to and map of properties featured in the Ward Books also available.

Notes: Each Ward Book was photographed by Kevin Eberle in 2021, who sent the digital photographs to HCF Archivist Karen Emmons, along with a typed index he created and a Downtown Street Map he modified to indicate the locations of the 8 wards. Emmons converted each jpg to pdf; combined them into individual pdf "volumes"; and printed them out. See email on Media tab.
