VENDUE.016-18.1Scope and Content
Constructed early 1800s, soon after the land was filled. Two-and-a-half stories tall with a side gable roof covered in asphalt shingles. The roof height changes just before the fourth bay; it drops half the height of the gable and shortens the roof line. It has six bays on the front and constructed of brick. The foundation is also constructed of brick, with quite a unique pattern resembling a Flemish bond pattern but the number of headers in between the stretchers varies from one to three. Chimney on the eastern end of the building, and two small entry porches are at the second and fifth bays.
Three files contain documentation of the easement on the property including related correspondence; appraisal and IRS form 8283; annual inspection reports; requests for alterations; correspondence related to the management of the property; graduate student report (Isabella Gordineer, 2020) on the history of the house, which includes historical and chain-of-title research, maps, photos, and other supporting documentation.Collection
