Constructed ca. 1856. One of three houses that survives on this street. Wall Street stretched to Calhoun Street prior to it being cleared for the construction of the Gaillard Auditorium. Five Wall Street is a simple two-story building constructed by free persons of color Paris and Susan Cooper.
File contains FOHG house history (undated-1970s?); photocopy of Census (date not indicated) for Wall Street (and Vernon Street); information about Paris and Susan Cooper and other family members (C. Smith, 2020); letter making connections between the Cooper, Maxwell, and Dibbles families (C. Smith, 2021).
