LEGARE.055.1Scope and Content
Constructed ca. 1869. Because of the destruction and poverty brought about by the Civil War, few new houses were built in Charleston in the years immediately following the end of the war. This house is one of the few exceptions, having been built around 1869. While it is not known who built the house, it did begin its existence with a standard Charleston single house design that has since been modified. The door is original to the house.
File contains FOHG house history (2005).
