Info from email accompanying email: "...the handwriting on the back of the photo is from my great aunt Harriet Stroman Williams, whose mother, Caroline McGillivray, was born and raised at 10 Atlantic Street. The notes on the back identify the two women in the doorway as Florence "Florrie" McGillivray (1873-1963) and Bel Morrison, who I don't know. Both Caroline McGillivray Stroman and her sister Florrie McGillivray Corbett (the one in the photo) married men in Orangeburg County. Florrie was buried in Springfield, S.C. Caroline (my great grandmother) died in and was buried in McClellanville after the Stromans lost their ancestral Orangeburg County plantation in 1922 to taxes after the cotton crop failed. I haven't researched when the house passed out of the McGillivray family. But if that's Florrie in the photo, she looks to be a young woman so more likely this photo was taken around the early 1890s."Created By
