WATER.005.1Scope and Content
Constructed ca. 1800-1880. A wealthy cooper, Joseph Righton, constructed several houses in the neighborhood, building this dwelling for his son. Originally built to face White Point and the river beyond, the house has a main entry that is accessed through an open arch in a brick wall and a staircase to the south elevation. In the 19th century a stucco pediment with dentiled masonry molding and a lunette window were added to the Water Street elevation. [May also be known or referred to as 7 Water Street.]
