This 3½ story masonry building was constructed some time between 1845-1852 by James English. Although the plan originally followed a traditional single house plan with central stair, 40 King Street has been greatly modified and hosts a variety of additions since its initial construction.
File contains graduate student report (Taylor Johnston, 2013) on the history of the building/property, which includes historical and chain-of-title research, maps, photos, and other supporting documentation.
