Scope and Content

Constructed 1860. This small 2-story wooden single house with a front closed gable was built by William Mathiessen just after he acquired the lot from Albert Elfe. Although standing in a row of 19th-century single houses, Mathiessen's house retains its fine vernacular detailing and early character. File contains chain-of-title research notes (scant); correspondence regarding the subdivision of the property.
