Constructed before 1822. This 2½ story frame house on a high basement was built by merchant Richard Brennan. Subsequently, it was the home of U.S. District Judge Thomas Lee. Originally at 56 Pitt Street, the house was moved to this location by Historic Charleston Foundation when it was threatened by demolition due to the expansion of the Medical University of South Carolina.
