Scope and Content

Six maps conveying plans to beautify Ansonborough, showing the footprints of buildings and annotated to indicate the status of buildings, traffic flow, and scenarios that would result from the Ansonborough Rehabilitation Project. Sheets 1-2: Annotated to show Historic Charleston Foundation-owned properties that were for sale; "buildings of value"; "buildings of some interest"; and "buildings of no value historically." Sheet 3: Scheme A. "Purposes: eliminate blight; provide the most open space; insulate area from cars and adjacent non-residential uses." Sheet 4: Scheme B. "Purposes: provide a random series of open spaces; eliminate as much blight as possible; buffer the area from cars." Sheet 5: Scheme C. "Purposes: provide strategically located open spaces; eliminate serious blight." Sheet 6: Proposed Traffic. Indicates the County's plan, the Ansonborough plan, and new streets.
