EBAY.273.1Scope and Content
Located between Hasell and Pinckney Streets on the west side of East Bay Street. The 1872 Bird's Eye View shows an empty lot in the area that is now 273 East Bay Street. Later and for the rest of the property's history, the makeup of its buildings has been warehouses. The structure today is a brick warehouse with remnants of early structures and structural elements including a wall around the perimeter of the property. The building has been highly altered from its earlier form, as illustrated in Sanborn Maps. Owned by George Williams for in the later part of the 19th century.
File contains graduate student report (Rachel Walling, 2014) on the history of the building, which includes historical and chain-of-title research, maps, photos, and other supporting documentation.Collection
