Constructed ca. 1850 on land originally granted to John Coming and Henry Hughes, later purchased by Isaac Mazyck Sr., Christopher Gadsden. The house is a 2½ story frame structure, a traditional center hall Charleston single house, sitting one full story off the ground. File contains graduate student report (Anna Simpkins, 2014) on the history of the building, which includes historical and chain-of-title research, maps, photos, and other supporting documentation.
