MONTAGUCT.006-8.1Scope and Content
Records indicate that the current 6 Montagu Court was built in 1910; however, an 1875 McCrady plat and the 1888 Sanborn Map show a building on the lot labeled 6 Montagu. Today 6 Montagu Court is a two-story L-shaped building with a two-story piazza on the south elevation. 8 Montagu Court was built in 1880. Today it is a two-story wood Charleston single house with a two-story addition on the east elevation.
File contains graduate student report on the history of the houses which includes historical and chain-of-title research, maps, photos, and other supporting documentation (Clayton Johnson, 2015).
Includes information about the creation of Montagu Court.
