Context

First page of photo album included this typewritten passage: "Quinby House was moved from Quinby Plantation to Halidon Hill August, 1954.The house, which measured 42 x 50 feet without the piazza, is pictured coming through the right of way at Quinby. Once the house reached the highway, it moved smoothly over the distance of approximately two miles to another right of way from the highway to its present location at Halidon Hill. The pictures which you see tell only a portion of the exciting story of the move of this house which is mortise and tenon with handwrought nails in the laths and weatherboarding."
