Program created by Gregory Paxton, HCF's Preservation Administrator, to maximize rehabilitation of small deteriorated homes of architectural merit, while minimizing the displacement of neighborhood residents. The neighborhoods of Wraggborough and Radcliffeborough were targeted. Under an agreement with municipal government, HCF purchased small landlord-owned buildings, undertook rehabilitation, and then sold to owner-occupants from the community. From 1977-1986, the following properties were purchased: 36 Mary, 1 Judith, 5 Charlotte, 138 Coming, 140 Coming, 142 Coming, 144D Coming, 44 Warren, 50 Warren, 68 Warren, 174 Smith, 181 Smith, 197 Smith, 199 Smith. Vacant parcels were also purchased at 144A-C Coming and 38-40 Warren.
