Records of the repairs and maintenance of 59 Church Street kept by Juliette and Henry Phillip Staats and their daughter and granddaughter. a: Summary of repairs (1946-1982) and other information related to 59 Church Street. Written by Juliette Staats (according to donor). b: "House Repair 1944-1988." Small notebook containing yearly summaries of repairs, maintenance, and purchases related to both the house and furnishings. In chronological order. Also includes references to the purchase of 57 Church and "cost of making [the] garden." Receipts that had been folded and inserted between the back cover and last page have been removed and placed in folder with notebook. Four repair-related documents found in other files are also in folder: "Outline Specification Alterations for Apartment Residence of Henry P. Staats (possibly by Albert Simons, 1942), contractor receipts from 1942 (James H. Gordon and T.W. Worthy) and 1947 (Herbert DeCosta). c. "59 Church Repairs and Upkeep." Small notebook containing brief summaries of repairs, maintenance, and purchases related to both the house and furnishings. Organized by room. Earliest date is 1950, latest date is 2004; bulk is 1970s-1990s. Compiled Gay Huffman, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Staats. d: Documentation related to the repair of the roof including correspondence from architect and contractor and the family members of The Church Street Historic Foundation. Also includes related minutes of the Church Street Historic Foundation. Spans 1993-1994. Scant references to other repairs also in file.
