Description

B&W photograph of the south staircase, St. Michael's Episcopal Church. Captioned on back: "St. Michael's Church was authorized for construction by the Commons House of Assembly at the same time as the Statehouse. Although completed a few years after the Statehouse in 1762, St. Michael's was undoubtedly the work of many of the same craftsmen who had constructed the Statehouse. The original balustrade of this stair may indicate the style of that formerly in the lobby of the Statehouse."
