Mrs. Farrow's notes (verso, front cover): A descendent of William Pinckney, sone of the emigrant, Thomas and Mary Cotewsosrth Pinckney. The Pinckney name originally de Picquigny, the ancestor going to England from France with "William the Conquerer" (from Picardy, France, from a small community on the Somme River.)
Mrs. Farrow's notes (verso, back cover): I am descended from William Pinckney.
