Alfred Hutty was one of the founding members of the Charleston Etchers Club in 1923, a time when etchings were used by printmakers to celebrate the essence of the Holy City. He also participated in many facets of Charleston's cultural life: taught art classes at his studio and at the Gibbes, was an officer and set painter for the Footlight Players, and was a member of the Charleston Art Commission. He lived at (and restored) 46 Tradd Street. This book features approximately 60 scenes of the Low Country in etchings, pencil drawings, and drypoint.
