ARCHDALE.GEN.002Description
Scan of a published photograph of 41 Archdale Street viewed from Market Street looking north. The building once served as the "Old Fire Engine House" and the Powers Carpet Cleaning Company. It was demolished ca. 1951 for the construction of a parking lot. Market Street diddn't always cut through between Logan and Archdale, so this was one of the buildings demolished to alter the street layout. (News & Courier; This is Charleston; Old Codgers' Charleston Address Book).
