Notes: Signed J.A. Legare on preliminary page. Mrs. Farrow's note: This book was given to me by my mother, Emily Legare Simmons Ravenel (Mrs. Charles J.). Notes written on lining papers describe names of dogs owned by J.A.L., and horses(?). Floor plan (sketch) on preliminary pages. 1833 Bill of Sale for a "Negro wench" named Lucky had been inserted inside book. She was transferred to James Legare."
