Peter Chitry (working, 1814-1832) Vegetable dish, one of four New York 1814/1832 Silver Engraved: EJ; stamped: P. Chitry One of a pair of Vegetable Dishes with Covers Pair of Silver Vegetable Dishes Marked P. Chitry, with Four Cast and Applied Feet with Shell Motifv. Dishes Have Gadrooned Edge and Each Is Engraved with Initials "Ej" on Side. Covers with Cast Oval Handles with Circular Gardrooned Edge. Gadrooning Around Edge of Covers. Chitry Was a Philadelphia Silversmith Working in the Early 19th C.
