Description

"Natural Color" postcard featuring the Idle Hour Restaurant, which was located at 1067 King Street. Sign for Coca-Cola and "fried chicken" mounted over the front of the building. Restaurant sign installed on the sidewalk. Caption on back of postcard: "Idle Hour Restaurant -- Established Nov. 1, 1939 -- Now Famous for 'Carolina's Best Fried Chicken'." Constructed in 1939 when the restaurant was established. Demolished in the 1960s. Now the site of the John L. Dart Library. Published by Willens & Co., Inc., Chicago, Ill.
