One of a pair of matched Karabaugh Rugs. Gallery Carpet. South Caucasus, last quarter 19th century. Wool carpet having navy ground decorated with drop floral design, oval medallions with scroll and leaf mantles and leaf scrolled base with each oval depicting multi-colored and various floral designs, medallions having burgundy, green, beige and rose borders flanking a green, beige and rose field in series of 2 with 2 halves over 3; burgundy border with wild honeysuckle blossom alternating in dark blue, beige and faded green flanked by narrow burgundy, single rose blossom and green leaf border; outer border sawtooth design in beige, burgundy and blue.Collection
