Tole (enameled tin) cachepot. Tapered, cylindral pot with rolled rim, supported by three paw feet on a circular base with rolled foot and two lion head pulls on both sides. Container has pierced ballaster decoration located .625 inches from rim. Exterior painted black. Decorated with chinoserie scene, applied with gold/bronze paint, below pierced work. Ballasters are painted the same gold/bronze color. Interior painted a creamy-yellow which shows rust and deterioration due to water. Base, also painted black, has gold/bronze floral pattern. Claw/paw feet are also painted gold/bronze color. Copper liner, badly deterioriated. "Made in France" painted underneath base.Collection

Overall good to fair condition, accretations on the surface, areas of lost enamel where tin is visible. Lion's head pulls are no longer attached to the vessel, the screws broke. Heavy layer of rust is on the interior of the cachepot and on the bottom of the copper liner. Liner also exhibits green corrosion and bronze/copper disease.Overall Condition
