Description

Sewing box 1811/1820 Leather with brass Sewing Box, Red Leather with four brass padded claw feet, two side pulls, front drawer pull, brass key lock and decoration. Acorns adorn the brass corners on the lid. Papered lid has a print of a mother sitting on a recamier sofa with her young child. Her dress is of the empire style - high waisted with ribbons below the breasts. Greek klismos style chair also evident. Many small compartments with tiny brass rings. Interior includes a crystal vial, a pattern for a cross, a small paper receipt/pattern. Small drawer compartment contains a small ivory umbrella, a wooden bobbin, crystal beadwork, and a small section of blue satin with black beaded pull.
