Hatbox Probably English 1790/1810 Velvet with paper-mache feet Octagonal. Painted Velvet Cap Box. Exterior decorated with painted velvet, sitting upon 7 (originally 8) papier mache gilt balls. Velvet painted with rose design. Band of lid is gilt with Greek/Classical scenes hinged top, interior is of pink paper, owned by Eliza Lothrop, HF 381
