Octagonal plate "Double Peacock and Peony" pattern, Chinese Export Porcelain in the Famille Rose palette with gilt highlighting. Part of a larger dinner service. Rim with chain border and floral garlands, central vignette of a pair of peacocks, pink peonies, and rocks surrounded by an inner spearhead border in iron red with gilt outline. some minor scratches. Some tarnishing on bowls, (prior to polishing) 2004.001.005.a: Crack on rim approx. 1.5: and shows through plate, Crack 2"- starts at a large chip, several chips around rim. 2004.001.005.b: Pitting on underside, some imperfections in glaze, one very visible chip on rim, some smaller chips, gilt on edge is worn, pitting and discoloration in bowl of plate. 2004.001.005.c: Edges are cracked in two areas, gilt is worn, some imperfections and pitting in center bowl of plate. discoloration in one area 1.5" near inner edge of rim, alot of imperfections in glaze on base of plate, some pitting, chips at base. 2004.001.005.d: Large crack on bottom which can be seen through to bowl of plate,some pitting on underside and top,a few chips on rim, gilt is worn on edge. 2004.001.005.e: several chips on base, evidence of cracks on base, some pitting, chips around rim, .188" imperfection in bowl of plate, crack can be seen through large peonie. 2004.001.005.f: Alot of piting on base, some imperfections and bubbles in glaze, crack on rim that goes through to underside, some pitting in central area, gilt on rim is faded, only a few chips on rim. 2004.001.005.g: Alot of pitting in central part of plate as well as the rim, rim has noticeable rough edge and gilt is faded, some imperfections on base and evidence of sand in firing. 2004.001.005.h: Base has pitting, one noticeable imperfection, several dents in glaze, pitting on central section, slight chip on rim, gilt is worn.
