Description

Porcelain Dish "Double Peacock and Peony" pattern, Chinese Export Porcelain in the Famille Rose palette with gilt highlighting. Part of a larger dinner service. Rim with chain border and floral garlands, central vignette of a pair of peacocks, pink peonies, and rocks surrounded by an inner spearhead border in iron red with gilt outline. Round coverd porcelain dish with a fitted top, handles fit into cut out areas in cover of dish. Used for sauce/jam/ butter, 2004.001.010.a-b

some minor scratches. Some tarnishing on bowls, (prior to polishing) 2004.001.010a-Top:Loss of gilt on rim, imperfections, pitting inside and on top, cracks on rim, several chips. 2004.001.010.b: Several cracks and large break in bowl (two pieces) which were glued back and repaired, imperfections, pitting, loss of gilt on top rim, chips in several small area on base, very rough finish, discoloration on interior and exterior of bowl, chip on rim of repaired crack.
