Description

Argand Lamp, lighting fixture on hexagonal brass base with urn style top. The light socket is at the end of a fluted arm that extends from the middle of the lamp. It has been electrified and the burner has been replaced with a light socket. The lamp is painted in a blackish green paint with polished brass accents. Plaque on arm reads: " MESSENGER & SON 20 GREVILLE ST. LONDON BIRMINGHAM" The lamp has an urn on top followed by a froup of varying size rings, accated (?) by polished brass and where arm extends from. This rests on a fluted motif which rests on top of a scalloped foot that rest on a hexagonal base.

There are scratches and areas of missing paint on the base and arm of the lamp, especially at the neck of the urn at the top of the lamp, also the area in the middle of the lamp where the arm is attached and at the base of the lamp.
