Set of Four George III Painted and Decorated Armchairs, C.1800, Each with Turned Crestrail with Rectangular Tablet Above Four Intersecting Circles, Caned Seat on Ring Turned - Splayed Legs. Owned in Mid-Nineteenth Century By Gov and Mrs. R.F.W. Allston.
4/27/05: Painted black and gilt-decorated, this arm chair is one of a set of two. (Another set of two combine to form the set of four.) It has a scrolled back and crane-neck arms, outflaring turned front legs and back splat of four interlocking circles topped by a small central tablet which connects to the crest rail.Collection

Structure is sound. Surface scratches overall; loss to gilding on arms; gouges along edges and top proper left surface of seat rails ( appear to have been re-gilded)
