Postcard featuring the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist (122 Broad Street), street elevation, southeast corner of building.
Captioned on back: "This cathedral, artistically and architecturally, is regarded as one of the most magnificent buildings in the South. It is constructed of Connecticut brownstone; about 200 feet long from the main entrance to the vestry; is 60 feet from the floor to the apex of the vaulted roof; the main altar is an exquisite work of Vermont marble, and the other altars are of marble. There are fifty stained glass windows from Munich, reproducing masterpieces of great artists."
Back of postcard postmarked April 22, 1948, and has one-cent postage stamp.
